Terms & Conditions — AskScoobyAI

Welcome to AskScoobyAI. These Terms of Use ("Terms") set out the rules for using the AskScoobyAI browser extension, website, and related services (together, the "Service"). By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms — so please read them carefully. If you do not agree with them, please don't use the Service.

1. About the Service

AskScoobyAI is a browser extension that helps you prepare for job interviews. From a job posting and your CV, it generates tailored interview questions and model answers, STAR-format answers, a cover letter and CV suggestions, and an AI mock-interview
practice feature with automated feedback and scoring. The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate content. See Section 7 for
important information about AI-generated content.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your country, and able to enter into a binding agreement, to use the Service.

3. Your Account

You sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that takes place under it. You must provide accurate information and not impersonate anyone else.

4. Credits, Pricing & Payment

  • Some features of the Service use "credits". You receive one (1) free credit on your first sign-in, and a number of free practice sessions to start.

  • After your free allowance, you may purchase additional credits. Prices are shown in the Service before you buy and start from the amount stated at the point of purchase.

  • Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your card details. Your use of Stripe is subject to Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.

  • Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are tied to your account.

  • One credit unlocks generation for a single job (across the relevant sections for that job). We may change credit pricing or what a credit unlocks from time to time; changes will not affect credits you have already purchased.

5. Refunds & Cancellation

  • The Service is a digital product delivered immediately. By purchasing credits and using them, you acknowledge that the digital content is supplied at once.

  • If you are a consumer in the UK/EU, you may have a statutory right to cancel a purchase within a "cooling-off" period. However, where you ask us to begin supplying digital content immediately and acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once
    supply has begun, that cancellation right may not apply to credits you have already used.

  • Unused credits: if you believe you have been charged in error, or have a problem with a purchase, contact us at help@askscoobyai.com and we will review your request in good faith. We may, at our discretion, refund unused credits.

  • We aim to be fair. Nothing in these Terms removes any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

6. Acceptable Use

We want AskScoobyAI to be helpful and safe for everyone, so we ask that you don't:

  • Use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent;

  • Reverse-engineer, copy, resell, or otherwise exploit the Service or its output for commercial redistribution;

  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or try to gain unauthorised access to its systems;

  • Use the Service to create content that is illegal, abusive, or infringes anyone else's rights;

  • Get around, disable, or overload any credit, usage, or security limits.

If you breach these Terms, we may suspend or end your access to the Service.

7. AI-Generated Content

  • The interview questions, answers, cover letters, CV suggestions, and mock-interview feedback are generated by artificial intelligence. They are provided as guidance and practice material only.

  • AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific situation. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding how to use any output.

  • We do not guarantee any particular outcome, including that you will secure an interview, perform well, or obtain a job. The Service is a preparation aid, not a guarantee of success.

8. Your Data & Privacy

Your privacy matters. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we use it. In short: your CV, job descriptions, and practice answers are used only to generate your prep and feedback. Please read our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

9. Intellectual Property

  • We own all intellectual property rights in the Service, including the extension, website, branding, and underlying technology. We grant you a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your personal interview
    preparation.

  • The prep content generated for you is yours to use for your own job applications. You must not resell it or represent the Service's output as a competing product.

10. Service Availability & Changes

  • The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available.

  • We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We rely on third-party providers (including AI, voice, hosting, and payment services); interruptions to those services may affect the Service.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for loss of opportunity, employment, data, or profits arising from your use of the Service.

  • Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim.

  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

 

12. Termination

  • You may stop using the Service and uninstall the extension at any time.

  • We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.

  • Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including IP, liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of  JURISDICTION — e.g. England & Wales, or Switzerland]. Any disputes will be subject to the courts of [JURISDICTION]. If you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
